If you are at all drawn to alternative beliefs this is the book for you, it is a stellar read.

The Last Ghost Dancer is a wonderful tale about growing up on the northern Great Plains. The environment completely shapes the characters to where the characters and the environment are interchangeable.

Interesting characters, unexpected twists, smooth build up of anticipation for the reader to wonder what the outcomes will be of each short chapter. Read the book in two short evenings for myself, and am now reading it out loud to a hospitalized friend, and enjoying it all over again in a new way.
